Error: Ash Container out of Place
If the ash container is improperly positioned, incineration will not start until the container is in place.
One of the most common support requests after a Cinderella Incinerating Toilet is first installed is "Ash Container out of Position".
The ash container assembly has a small, but powerful magnet riveted to the bottom rear of the ash container assembly. When the ash container is positioned correctly, the magnet lines up to an installed magnetic hall sensor, ensuring the unit is safe to use.
Specific to the Cinderella Comfort, Freedom and Travel models, the RED and YELLOW LEDs on the control panel will be "flashing" at the same interval while the GREEN LED will show as a solid "ON". This light show will continue until the ash container is positioned correctly. The unit will also beep 3 times when the error is first triggered, however does not continue.
The Comfort and Freedom models are equipped with an LCD display that provides detailed error messages, while the Travel models feature a unique control panel without an LCD display.
CAUTION!
Specific to Freedom models, if the ash container is out of place prior to powering on, once power is applied the screen will be illuminated but remain blank with no characters. The LED sequence present the same RED and YELLOW LEDs "flashing" at the same interval while the GREEN LED is "ON". Once the ash container is positioned correctly, "Ready for Use" and "Cinderella Gas" will be cycling and visible the LCD screen.
Common solutions:
- If the unit is being tested after initial installation, it is possible the zip-tie holding the ash container in place during shipping, was not removed. This can easily prevent the ash container magnet from reaching the sensor.
- Adjust the position of the ash container. If the ash container has been recently emptied of ash, check that it has been returned to the correct position. The handle should be turned well to the left, feel free to use a small amount of force.
Classic, Freedom and Comfort Models:
Travel Models: -
If it has been a long time since the ash container has been emptied, the same error message will be displayed. Empty and clean the insert in the ash container, and put it back in the correct position
- Units that may have suffered some overfilling or are older installations, may require the magnet to be replaced on the ash container assembly. Overfilling and high humidity, when not kept in check, can result in corrosion to internal components including the ash container magnet. Please reach out to your local dealer if you require a new magnet installed.
If the ash container and magnet are in the correct position, but the error remains, a defective magnetic hall sensor can also cause this error. - Check that the stop pin welded on the side of the ash container is still intact. If not present, the ash container may be spinning past the sensor, instead of locking. the correct location. If this stop angle is missing or damaged, it will require replacement to function correctly.
