Error: Empty the Ash Container
The ash container should be emptied frequently (once a week) for best operation. This ensures more efficient incineration and helps keep the catalytic converter clean.
The Cinderella system is designed to handle about 3-4 deposits per hour. However, using it for extended periods can lead to overfilling and hatch errors. After 5 or more deposits, bowl liners may start to form a "tower" in the ash container, potentially blocking new deposits from clearing the hatch - which will eventually cause a "Hatch Error".
Cinderella recommends that you empty the toilet as often as possible to ensure better incineration efficiency and less wear of the product. Failing to empty the ash container when full may cause damage to the toilet and void your warranty.
Specific to the Cinderella Comfort and Freedom models, the unit will warn the user when it is time to empty the ash container by presenting RED and YELLOW LEDs on the control panel "flashing" at alternate intervals while the GREEN LED will remain solid as "ON". The display will read ‘‘EMPTY THE ASH CONTAINER” and you will hear three short beeps when the toilet lid is opened. This light show will continue until the ash container has been removed.
The Comfort and Freedom models are equipped with an LCD display that provides detailed error messages, while the Travel models feature a unique control panel without an LCD display.
CAUTION!
The internal counter for the warning will be reset each time ash container is removed from position. Please empty the ash container each time it is removed from its locked location to prevent any potential for overflow.
If not emptied within a certain amount of uses, all Cinderella models will completely lock down preventing the unit from being used. At this point the RED, YELLOW and GREEN LEDs lights will be constantly lit and the display will read ‘‘TOILET LOCKED CONTAINER FULL”. You will hear three short beeps every ten seconds until the ash container is removed and emptied.
Common solutions:
- Empty the ash container at least once per week or after 50 uses.
- Have an extra ash container insert on hand for a quick swap when performing cleaning and maintenance, also ensuring that the ash insert is completely dry before replacing.
- Steam cleaning can solve may maintenance related issues and can be completely each time the ash container is emptied.
Classic, Freedom and Comfort Models Weekly Cleaning:
For Travel Models:
Loosen the locking spring and lift the latch at the front of the ash container. Pull out the ash container. Remove the insert from the ash container and empty out the ash.
The same cleaning process for the ash container insert can be performed as shown above for Comfort and Freedom models. Clean off any urine salts and burnt-on residue from the insert and replace when complete.
Having an Empty Ash Container notification is a sign that better maintenance practices should be put into place and emptied more frequently. Cleaning the hatch/bowl frequently is another very important maintenance process that will ensure you unit functions to specification for many years. Most customer perform the hatch/bowl cleaning at the same time they empty the ash container and perform the steam-clean.
